Seasoned Credit LineA seasoned credit line is a credit line with with history. The amount of seasoning is the amount of time the credit line has been active. All of your active credit lines are seasoning every month that goes by. There is no shortcut to seasoning a credit line but be sure not to get rid of any that you already have. Too often people close accounts that they may not use but are providing positive credit. The longer your credit line is open the better it looks to lenders. Try to have at least three credit lines that you plan on keeping for the long term. Spread out your spending between the three to keep them active but don't go overboard. The more credit lines you have the more likely you'll lose track of payments and miss one. If you have ever missed a payment you know how much of a pain in the rear it becomes after that happens.
