Credit Repair ServiceAnything a credit repair service can do you can do yourself. Thats the mantra we hear from the credit bureaus, and while true, it could apply to any service. You can do your own taxes, or wash your own car, or fix your own credit. You could also hire a company to do any of the above for you if prefer. A company that provides credit repair is just like any other service, they work hard to get results in their field and are probably better at what they do than you are.
If you spend any time at all looking into credit repair services on the web you will find LOTS of confusing information. This is because the information is generally coming from one of two opposing forces: credit bureaus and credit repair companies. You see, the credit bureaus (which are companies, not government organizations) do not like credit repair companies because they cause the bureaus to work harder. It is in the interest of the credit bureaus to discourage consumers from using repair companies. Fewer disputes = less work = increased profits. The more people that believe do-it-yourself credit repair is the only safe way to do it, the less work load the bureaus will have. The repair companies on the other hand are trying to sell you their service and the information you get from them is geared that way. The bottom line is that most credit repair service companies do provide a legitimate service, but like anything else you need to do your homework before you sign up with one. I have reviewed dozens of these companies and I have posted links to the two best ones at the bottom of this page. This does not mean these two are the only "good" companies, but beware that there are many "bad" ones that you will want to stay away from.
